An AC that runs but isn’t blowing cold air usually points to airflow restriction, a thermostat/control issue, or a cooling circuit problem. The most common real-world cause is reduced airflow that keeps heat from moving through the system. When I see the indoor blower running but the outdoor fan still, the system can’t dump heat outside, so you only feel room‑temperature air. Try these quick checks before calling:
- Confirm thermostat is set to Cool and Auto, 5° below room temp.
- Replace or clean the air filter if dirty.
